The old lime kilns of Caldè, from the glorious building of Milan Duomo to nowadays
The only way to visit the area where the old lime kilns of Caldè are placed is by water. Paddling along the shore, far away from the road traffic, we will admire the whitewashed calcareous promontory from where lime was extract since 1200. We will learn the history of Caldè kilns, from the supplies to Milan Cathedral to nowadays status of undervalued archeo-industrial complex.

What to wear: shorts or swimming pants, flip flops, sandals or open water shoes, hat and sunglasses.
What to bring: towel, water bottle, sun screen, dry cloths to leave in your car.
First time on a Canadian canoe?
No worries! The paddling technique will be explained during the briefing in order to allow everyone to enjoy fully the experience.
What if I have a group of more than 3 people?
The main canoe with the guide has 3 seats, other paddlers will paddle on a 3 seats inflatable Canadian canoe. Alone or with another guide with an additional fee (for more details contact me directly).
Will I get wet?
No if you don’t want to! The canoe stability is good and splashes are almost zero with the right paddling technique. You may have to put your feet in the water to board, a pleasant experience during summer days!
Will we have a break along our way?
Of course. According to our needs will have a break to enjoy the lake also from the shore.

The Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, pearl of the eastern shore
During this excursion we will admire the environment in which sits the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, National Monument. The privileged point of view from the water allows us to enjoy peacefully the high, vertical, calcareous wall that hosts spontaneous agaves and other Mediterranean plants, surrounded by a micro-climate that reminds far more southern destinations.
